It's been quite the journey. We start in Venezuela with some joyous family moments, interspersed with bouts of anti-government student protests. The "questionable" political situation leads Andres and his family to move to Australia. which is the moment he discovers a his $300,000 may not be travelling to Australia. Penniless and needing to learn English from scratch, Andres and his wife set about making the best of a pretty dire situation. Fast forward through fishing rods being swapped for kayaks, a few heavy doses of positive mental attitude, kids, property, government jobs, and plenty more in between, and here he is at what could quite possibly be the pinnacle of his time in Australia - being a guest on my podcast.
